After getting done with the hard work of planning events for Nevermore Island in Second Life, I went on the reading trek to come up with some new ideas for actually making an attempt to blog something.  (See my last post :) )  In doing so, I came across this site that read “things to add to your blog”.  Curious I looked at it, it was nothing but a bunch of pop quizzes you could take and add to your blog to make you more “interesting”.  Ok, so, I bit.

You Like The

You definitely have a good time during the , but you aren’t obsessed with them or anything.
You shop for a few presents and participate in a few traditions… but that’s it!

You may be accused of being a grinch, but you’re simply not a fanatic about traditions – especially commercial ones.
You get into the spirit of the season by being kind, compassionate, and not clogging up the stores!

First of all, I am going to point out, I celebrate something other then during the season. I happen to LOVE the season, and the meaning of what its supposed to stand for. I know each of us have our own believes about what the mean, but we are all entitled. I am not going to get into religion, it’s kind of like politics to me, too much of it already all over the net waves.

The quiz is pretty accurate. I don’t consider myself a grinch, but the commercialism of a () that is supposed to be about life and something beautiful is a bit much for me. Halloween wasn’t even over, and our local Walmart already started plopping down phoney trees like it was an alleged flame retardant, laden, environment toxic forest. Did you know them things carry an environmental warning? The Children’s Health Environmental Coalition put out a warning on the content that contains lead, meaning potential poisoning… Not to mention the way a fake burns in comparison to a real one….. Seeing that a time or three in my career, the Walmart forest is a little unsettling…..

I wish everyone a happy and SAFE season. Remember to take time to reflect on why you are celebrating Yule, Chanakuah, , or which ever you celebrate. There is more to it then shopping, even if to you it means a coming together of friends and family. In closing, I want to leave you with this.. GO GREEN! :)
